Netscape Search Buttons
This is a collection of buttons that you can drag onto your personal toolbar
in Netscape. Each of them performs a lookup in some online resource, and
can be activated in one of two ways:
-
By clicking on the button in your personal toolbar, you will get
a pop-up box asking you for a word or phrase to look up.
-
If you select some text with the mouse and then click on the button the
highlighted word or phrase will be looked up.
I got this idea (and the templates) from the Google and Merriam-Webster web sites.
To use one of these search buttons, click and drag one of the links
below to the personal toolbar in your Netscape browser.

If you have any other search-like services that you'd like this
functionality for, you can probably clone one of these links, or ask me
and I'll make one and add it here.
Finally, if you are a MacOS X user, you may find this SearchGoogle
service useful. After you've installed it, the "Services" submenu
will have a "Search Google" service that will open your web browser to
a Google search page, searching for whatever text you currently have selected.
